According to Opta, Coco Gauff, aged 19 years and 182 days, became since October 2006 the youngest athlete to reach the top 3 of the ranking. The previous tennis player was Maria Sharapova.
Additionally, Gauff is considered the youngest American tennis player to reach the top three in the rankings since November 1999. His predecessor was Venus Williams.
Coco Gauff became the winner of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career and she only has six trophies to her name.
