The Ukrainian tennis player is glad that athletes from aggressor countries are not allowed to attend the tournament in the UK.

Lesya Tsurenko is glad that there are no Russians and Belarusians at Wimbledon this year. The Ukrainian tennis player admitted that he does not feel much pressure in the tournament due to the lack of athletes from the aggressor countries.

In an interview with journalists after winning the first round, Tsurenko also said he did not believe in the remorse of Russian and Belarusian athletes.

“I feel good in a tournament where I don’t see players from these countries. I definitely feel less pressure. Most of the time, nothing personal, but the situation is that our countries are at war. So definitely less pressure, and I feeling lighter.

Why do I feel pressure when they play? I have already said about it. This is my personal feeling, I don’t know how it is with other Ukrainians, but a tennis player from Belarus told me that he supports us, me, Ukraine and he is against the war.

I have heard nothing from others that they oppose, I do not know their opinion. Because no one else told me, I felt bad and the pressure inside increased, ”Tsurenko told btu.org.ua.
