Athletistic / Tennis. 1995 Davis Cup finalist, Russian Andrei Chesnokov, said his compatriot Andrei Rublev has all the abilities to reach the semi-finals of the Grand Slam tournament. To date, the 25-year-old Russian has never reached the TBS quarter-finals.
“I think Rublev was often unlucky with his opponents, he lost three times [Даниилу] Medvedev, twice [Новаку] Djokovic. Few people in the world can beat them anymore. The main thing for Andrey is not to get upset and continue working. Not everyone can reach the quarterfinals nine times in Grand Slam tournaments, and I am sure that he will be able to overcome this stage, he has everything for this,” Chesnokov said according to TASS.
As of 2023, Rublev has reached the quarterfinals of Grand Slam tournaments three times. In total, he has lost nine matches at this point. Andrey is now the sixth racket in the world. He has 14 victories in ATP tournaments, winning two titles this season. In 2021, Rublev, together with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, became Olympic champion at the Tokyo Games (Japan) in mixed doubles. As a member of the Russian national team, he won the Davis Cup and the ATP Cup.
