Australian tennis player Daria Saville reacted on social networks to the training of the former first racket in the world Maria Sharapova hinting that the Russian could return to the WTA tour.
On Monday, the Australian reposted a video on social media in which Sharapova, 36, does various exercises, including barbell rows, crunches and others. Saville suggested that this could indicate Maria’s intention to resume her career.
“I sense another return.” No one does such special exercises just to “feel good,” wrote Saville, 29, who previously competed for Russia.
Sharapova is the winner of five Grand Slam tournaments, the total number of titles under the auspices of the WTA in singles is 36. In February 2020, she announced her retirement. In the summer of 2022, a Russian woman and her husband, British businessman Alexander Gilkes, gave birth to a boy named Theodore.
In 2023, another former world leader, the Danish Caroline Wozniacki, resumed her performances.
