Nick Kirios came into confrontation with one of the supporters during the match with Briton Paul Jub at Wimbledon. The Australian tennis player spat in the direction of the fan. After the match, Kirios said the fan deliberately tried to throw him off balance.
“Today, as soon as I won the game, I reached out to him…I faced hate and negativity for a long time, so I don’t feel like I have to anything to that person. He literally came to the game just to stir and disrespect. That’s okay. But if I give it back to you, then that’s it,” Kyrios said.
The tennis player also noted that he asked the referee to remove the fan from the match. The 27-year-old received a booking after kicking the ball out of the stadium.
Kirios defeated Jabba and advanced to the second round, where Serbian Filip Krajinovic will be his opponent.
