In the opening match, Murray (7) defeated the world’s 652nd racket, Chinese representative Ye Cong Mo (WC), with a score of 7:5, 6:3. The tennis match lasted 1 hour and 42 minutes. Murray served 10 times, double-faulted and converted two of the three break points he won.

Murray will face Aslan Karatsev to reach the quarter-finals of these competitions.
