Athletistic/Tennis. Kazakh tennis player Elena Rybakina, fifth in the world rankings, expressed her disagreement with the new WTA rule on the formation of the tournament grid.

At the next WTA 500 tournament in Tokyo, starting September 25, a “performance bye” will be used, allowing tennis players who showed excellent results in the previous week to automatically advance to the second round. As a result, the “performance bye” was given to Greek Maria Sakkari and Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, whose positions in the WTA rankings are lower than those of Rybakina. Elena is the third seed in this tournament.

“Goodbye performance. Thanks for the last minute rule changes. Great decisions as always, WTA,” Rybakina shared on the social network.

In the first round, Elena will play with Czech tennis player Linda Noskova, ranked 41st in the world rankings.
