Athletistic/Tennis. President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Shamil Tarpishchev shared his impressions of the performance of Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov, ranked 15th in the world rankings, at the ATP-250 tournament in Zhuhai (China).

“Karen is gradually getting into the rhythm of the tournament, getting back into shape after her injury. It’s good that he pulled off a tough win and advanced to the semi-finals, but he can’t be expected to do much despite his top seed status. It is important for him now to prepare well for the Masters,” Tarpishchev was quoted as saying by the TASS agency.

Victories against Australian Alex Bolt (6:4, 6:4) and American Mackenzie McDonald (4:6, 6:4, 6:4) at the Zhuhai tournament were Khachanov’s first in singles since Roland Garros 2023. From June to August, Khachanov was recovering from an injury.

At the ATP-250 semi-finals in Zhuhai, Khachanov will play with American Sebastian Korda, ranked 33rd in the world rankings.
