World number three Daniel Medvedev was satisfied with his performance in the first round match of the Beijing tournament with American Tommy Paul.
The Russian beat Paul with a score of 6:2, 6:1. Medvedev’s next opponent will be Australian Alex de Minaur.
“It wasn’t easy for us, we both had a little jet lag. Paul probably has more, since he’s from Vancouver. Maybe it had some importance, but if we talk about me, I was satisfied with the level displayed [игры]. I played very well. The start of the match was not easy, but the first round is never easy, especially in another part of the world. But as the match progressed, I played better and better,” Medvedev is quoted on the ATP website.
