Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk reached the third round of the tournament WTA 1000 in Pekin.
Marta beat world number seven Ons Jabeur from Tunisia. The two-set match lasted one hour and 18 minutes.
In the first set, Jabeur led with a break from the start. Marta fought back two set points, returned her lost serve, and managed to put the squeeze on her opponent in the tiebreaker. In the second game, the Ukrainian left no chance for Jabeur, defeating her opponent in less than half an hour.
In the first round, Kostyuk won a strong-willed victory over the Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto. In the next match, the Ukrainian will meet with Lyudmila Samsonova, playing under a neutral flag.
