Russia’s first racket Daniel Medvedev expressed confidence that he would be able to break his own record for the number of victories in a season.
On Saturday, the Russian beat Chilean Cristian Garin in the second round of the Shanghai Masters (6:3, 6:3). This victory was Medvedev’s 60th this season. His personal record is 63 victories in a season.
— Will I be able to beat my record? I hope. At the moment and in the form I am in, I would confidently say that I can do it,” Medvedev was quoted as saying by the ATP press service.
Medvedev’s next opponent will be American Sebastian Korda, seeded 26th in the tournament.
