Medvedev broke his racket in anger after losing a tiebreaker in a match against Korda at a tournament in Shanghai.

Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev could not contain his emotions after losing the first set of the third round match of the Masters Series tournament in Shanghai against American Sebastian Korda.

The first set ended in a defeat for Medvedev with a score of 6:7 (8:10), the Russian having obtained three set points in the tiebreaker. During the break, the athlete hit the bench several times in anger, breaking his racket. The second set also did not end in favor of Medvedev – 2:6. The Russian finished his performance at the tournament.

Korda’s next opponent in Shanghai will be the winner of the match between Hungarian Marton Fucsovics and Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo.

Medvedev is the third racket in the world, winner of the 2020 ATP Finals Tournament and the 2021 US Open, as well as 20 ATP Singles Series tournaments.
