Marchenko interrupted a three-match losing streak with a confident victory over “neutral” Karlovsky
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko successfully started the tournament ATP Challenger Tour 125 in Slovak Bratislava. In the qualifying semi-finals, the Ukrainian defeated Evgeniy Karlovsky, who competed in neutral status.
The first set was relatively easy for Ilya – 6:2. The sixth game became decisive when our tennis player managed to break someone else’s serve on the third attempt.
But in the second game, which lasted more than an hour, the opponent gave a fight. The opponents were level game after game, and the relationship had to be sorted out in a tiebreaker. Not without difficulty, Marchenko tipped the scales to his side – 10:8.
Thus, Ilya interrupted his three-match winless streak. For the right to play in the main draw of the tournament in the capital of Slovakia, the Ukrainian will fight with the winner of the duel between Marko Topo (Germany) and Kacper Zhuk (Poland).
