Two Ukrainian tennis players started the tournament WTA 500 V Zhengzhou (China).
Qualification winner Lesya Tsurenko reached the second round, beating Diana Schneider, who competes under a neutral flag, at the start of the main draw. The two-set match lasted 83 minutes (6:4, 6:2).
