Dayana and her partner missed three match points
Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska and Dalma Galfi of Hungary lost to Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic and Australia’s Storm Sanders in their first-round doubles match at Wimbledon.
The fight started yesterday, but was interrupted due to rain in the second set with the score 4:3 in favor of Yastremska and Galfi. Today tennis players returned to the court and finished the meeting.
The fate of the match was decided on a tie-break in the third set – the Ukrainian-Hungarian couple did not convert three match points and lost 16:18.
Earlier, Yastremskaya stopped playing in the singles draw of the Wimbledon women’s tournament, losing in two sets to Romanian Ana Bogdan.
Doubles Wimbledon has already left Angelina Kalinina and Marta Kostyuk. Nadezhda Kichenok, in a duet with Raluka-Ioana Olaru, reached the 1/8 finals, and Lyudmila Kichenok will play in the 1/16 finals tomorrow.
