As expected, world number three Medvedev faced a tough encounter with his good friend Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals. All sets ended with a score of 6:3, Medvedev won two and earned his 63rd victory in 2023.
Khachanov was beaten for the fifth time in six meetings.
Earlier this week, the 27-year-old defeated Arthur Fiss in straight sets and then beat Grigor Dimitrov in three sets.
Meanwhile, Tsitsipas, seventh in the ATP rankings, defeated Borna Gojo in straight sets. After the first tiebreak victory, the Greeks won the match with a score of 7-5. This is his 48th victory in 68 matches this year.
