Ellina Svitolina achieved another victory in Ukrainian tennis. As Suspilna Sport reports, the athlete spends her 500th week in the top 100 rankings of the Women’s Tennis Association. Before him, no domestic tennis player had achieved such a standard.
Note that Svitolina first entered the top 100 ranking of tennis players at the age of 18. This happened on February 18, 2013. After that, she continued to spend 479 weeks among the best representatives of the WTA. He held a high position in 2017, when he rose to third place in September.
In March 2022, Svitolina took a break from her tennis career due to pregnancy and the birth of a child. Therefore, she dropped to the top hundred in the WTA rankings. Elina returned to performance at a professional level a year later, in March 2023. Then she was the 1344th racket in the world, but three months later, the Ukrainian was again in the top 100.
