Angelina beat Susan Lamens in her debut match for the national team
Angelina Kalinina brought the first point for Ukrainian national team in confrontation with the Netherlands in the playoffs Billie Jean King Cup.
The Ukrainian defeated Susan Lamens in two sets. In the first game, Angelina made four breaks, giving two of her serves. In the second set, Kalinina made a decisive break in the sixth game, after which she brought the match to victory.
Angelina played her debut match for the national team. Angelina’s next match is scheduled for Sunday, November 12, against Aranci Rus.
On Saturday Dayana Yastremskaya and Rus will also play. The start of the second match between the national teams of Ukraine and the Netherlands is at 14:05.
Let us remind you that the playoff match is taking place in Vilnius on the closed hard courts of the SEB Arena. Ukraine is the host of the confrontation with the Netherlands.
In April, Ukraine lost to the Czech Republic (1:3) and for the second time in a row failed to make it to the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup. The winners of the playoff matches will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 tournament.
