Athletistic will broadcast a live text online: Tennis. ATR-250. Metz. The final. Humbert – Shevchenko. Direct
Humbert beat Dominic Thiem and Harold Maillot to reach the semi-finals, where he faced Fabio Fognini. The Frenchman easily dealt with his opponent in the first set, leaving him with a bagel.
The second set wasn’t as one-sided as the previous one, but Fognini was still acting as a spectator and couldn’t do much. Humbert broke the Italian’s serve twice to win the match 6-0, 6-2 and reach his first final since June 2021.
Shevchenko defeated Matthias Burg, Mate Walkus and Karen Khachanov to reach the semi-finals. He then faces Pierre-Hugues Herbert for a place in the final.
Shevchenko made a double break in the first set and led 4-1. Erbert managed to regain one of the breaks, but was unable to completely close the gap and the Russian won the first set.
The two played evenly matched for most of the second set, but Shevchenko eventually took the lead. He won the final three games of the match to win 6-4, 6-4 and reach his first career ATP final.
Before that, the paths of Shevchenko and Humbert did not cross, so in personal meetings they are currently at 0:0.
