Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev beat the German Alexander Zverev during the second round match of the group stage of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) final tournament.
The Red Group match ended with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 6:4 in favor of the Russian. The tennis players spent 1 hour and 45 minutes on the court.
Thanks to this victory, Medvedev qualified earlier than expected for the semi-finals of the tournament and will meet Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the final round. Another Russian Andrei Rublev, who lost his chances of reaching the playoffs, is also in the quartet.
The ATP tournament final will take place in Turin from November 12 to 19. The winner will win more than $4.8 million. Last year, Serbian Novak Djokovic became the tournament champion.
