Athletistic/Tennis. Tennis player Andrei Rublev spoke about the support of Russians from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
“The ATP supports us in general. We are allowed to play, and I thank them very much for that. As for any other action, I don’t know, because I am not present at any meeting. At the moment, as much as I know, to all the principals, we are admitted to the tournaments and can play,” said Rublev.
Russian tennis players can participate in competitions organized under the auspices of the ATP. But at Wimbledon 2022, organized by the UK Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), Russian tennis players were not allowed. In response to this, the Wimbledon tournament was stripped of ranking points, i.e. athletes’ performance at Wimbledon will not affect their position in the world tennis rankings.
