Halep defeats Anisimova to advance to Wimbledon semis

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep beat an american Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

The match lasted just over an hour and ended with the score 6:2, 6:4.

The 18th racquet in the world made 3 aces, 1 double fault and 4 breaks. Her opponent, ranked 25th in the WTA rankings, deprived herself of rounds from start to finish, converted 1 break point out of 8 and committed 1 double fault.

In the match to advance to the final, the Romanian will play either Australia’s Ayla Tomlyanovic or Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina.

Halep, 30, is the 2019 Wimbledon champion.
