Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev summed up the season after the end of the fight at the final ATP tournament.
World number three Medvedev lost to 22-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (7:4), 1:6 and could not reach the final. The Russian will end the year in third place in the ATP rankings.
– I am happy. It was a good season. Of course, there were ups and downs. The sharp increase occurred at the start of the season. I was proud of myself because before the tournament in Rotterdam I fell into the top 10… I felt disgusting, terrible. I couldn’t throw the ball down the field. Then things started to improve. Titles, finals and others. Overall, I’m happy with what I achieved this season. I will try to learn from it and do better next season because Sinner, Alcaraz, Novak are playing better and better. If you want to try to stay at the top, you have to constantly improve,” Medvedev said, as quoted by the official ATP website.
