Djokovic will win at least two more Grand Slams, says Tarpischev

President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev explained to why Novak Djokovic must be considered the number one in tennis and also expressed confidence that the Serbian will win at least two more Grand Slam tournaments.

On Sunday, Djokovic defeated Italian Jannik Sinner in the final of the ATP Finals in Turin with a score of 6:3, 6:3. The Serbian became the first tennis player to win seven ATP finals, leaving his closest pursuer, Roger Federer, with six victories remaining. In total, Djokovic has 98 victories in ATP tournaments.

“Novak showed in Turin that he is the greatest. Djokovic is the number one in tennis. First, Novak always knows what he’s doing on the court. Example: Rublev always presses and Novak has variations at different times of the match.

Secondly, it again turned out that Novak approached the final with freshness. But Sinner was already “fed up” and already in the final Djokovic very competently used a serve with a high bounce; at a high point, you have to approach the ball with great skill. Djokovic took advantage of this and played in a varied manner. Third, the Turin tournament once again showed that Djokovic calculated the situation one step ahead. The rest of the tennis players seemed more primitive in this regard.

Novak’s achievements show that he is the greatest. I think he will win at least two more Grand Slam tournaments,” Tarpischev told .
