Alexey lost to Bulgarian Andreev in a tiebreaker
Ukrainian tennis player Alexey Krutykh lost to Bulgarian Adrian Andreev in three sets at the start of the main draw of the tournament ATP Challenger Tour in Spanish Valencia.
The fight lasted more than two and a half hours. The Ukrainian won the first set convincingly – 6:2. However, he gave the second game to his opponent with the same score, losing twice on his serve.
In the decisive third set, Krutykh fought off two break points with the score 1:2. As a result, the fate of the confrontation was decided in a tiebreaker. And there Andreev managed an incredible comeback. Losing 0:5, Adrian took 7 points in a row – and eventually won a strong-willed victory.
Let us remind you that during the qualification of the Spanish challenger, Krutykh defeated Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili and Frenchman Maxime Janvier. What is noteworthy is that Alexey won all four sets in these matches with a score of 6:2.
