Kostomarov played tennis with a bionic prosthetic arm

Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov posted a video on his Telegram channel in which he demonstrated how he tried to play tennis using a bionic prosthetic right hand.

The 46-year-old athlete underwent several amputations after his hospitalization in 2023 and was released in July.

In the video, Kostomarov leads a tennis training session, holding a racket with a bionic prosthesis. At first, when hitting the ball, the racket falls from the athlete’s hands, but in subsequent attempts he manages to throw the ball over the net.

— At first, total disappointment. It’s terribly difficult without hands… both mentally and physically. But then you can find a way out of this situation if you really want to. “I really want it,” Kostomarov signed the video.

Kostomarov, partnered with Tatyana Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, and also won the World Championships twice and the European Championships three times.
