Nadal withdraws from Wimbledon due to injury, Kyrios to play in Grand Slam final

The multiple Grand Slam winner from Spain Rafael Nadal withdrew from Wimbledon due to injury, according to the tournament press office.

After the quarter-final with the American Taylor Fritz the tennis player said he could refuse to continue the fight due to problems with the abdominal muscles. However, 36-year-old Nadal went on to win.

“We are sad to see it all end like this, Rafael Nadal. Thank you for another year of unforgettable moments at the tournament,” Wimbledon said in a statement.

Thus, Nadal’s opponent in the semi-finals is an Australian Nick Kirios qualified for the Wimbledon final. For him, this is the first decisive match of the Grand Slam tournaments in singles.

In another match, the ½ finals will play the Serbian Novak Djokovic and British Cameron Norrie .
