The legendary Spanish tennis player has withdrawn from the tournament and will not appear on the court on Friday and will miss a month.

Rafael Nadal will no longer play in the Wimbledon semi-finals. The tennis player himself announced this at a specially convened press conference. The reason for the withdrawal from the tournament was an injury the Spaniard received earlier.

Note that earlier there was information that despite the injury, Nadal could get into court. However, after training, the tennis player said that a torn abdominal muscle would not allow him to play at full strength, and therefore he wanted to not exacerbate the injury.

“As you know, I have an abdominal muscle, I have been torn abdominal muscle. I’ve been thinking about the decision all day, but if I continue to play, the injury will get worse. I’m sad to say this. I can’t win two against, I can’t serve at normal speed, I can’t move the court to serve.

Out of respect for myself, I don’t want to go out on the court, because I can’t show the maximum. Problems arose during the tournament, but before that I was in control of it. After the last fight, this problem was discovered.

It usually takes 3-4 weeks to heal such damage. In a week I can train at the back line, without an inning, ”the Spaniard said Tennis Majors.

It will be recalled that Rafael Nadal was supposed to play Nick Kirios in the semi-finals of Wimbledon. Now the Australian will enter the decisive battle without a fight.

According to ATPMediaInfoKyrios has been the lowest ranked Grand Slam finalist since 2008, when he played world No. 54 Marcos Baghdatis at the Australian Open.

At Wimbledon, the last time a player with a lower rating than Kirios played in the final was in 2003. It was Mark Philippoussis, who at that time was in 54th place.
