The Northern Palmyra Trophies tournament will be held in St. Petersburg from December 1 to 3 on the courts of the St. Petersburg Arena sports and concert complex. Athletes from Russia, Kazakhstan, Spain, Serbia, France, Italy and Bulgaria will take part in the team tournament.
— Tournaments like ours are very rare. The only ones that come to mind are the Laver Cup and the Hopman Cup. But such a tournament, where there are neither continents nor countries, but there is a “Sphinx” team and a “Lions” team – symbols of St. Petersburg, has never happened anywhere.
But the success of the tournament depends not only on the organizers and players, but also on the spectators. Come with your friends, relatives and acquaintances, because there will be some very good tennis. Besides, we agreed that there would be no gifts. Total fair play in every draw.
— How did Vera Zvonareva become a participant in the tournament at the last moment?
— We had an Italian woman named Jacqueline Paolini. Alas, the tennis player suffered an ankle injury, which was confirmed by unpleasant photos of the ankle.
