Tennis player Anastasia Potapova talked about the wedding ceremony with Alexander Shevchenko which took place in St. Petersburg.
The ceremony took place on Friday at the Wedding Palace n°1 on the Promenade des Anglais.
— The wedding was relatively timed to coincide with the tournament. We wouldn’t just come to St. Petersburg now – we don’t live in Russia yet because of the tour. And even if it was for painting, most likely they would have signed it in Moscow – because I live there. But since we knew that we were going to St. Petersburg, there was no doubt that we would combine business with pleasure – we would register in St. Petersburg and play a home tournament.
When is the wedding? We’re both playing in Brisbane and Adelaide in 2024. We have a wedding in three days – we’re celebrating in another country. Then we fly to Dubai, we will rest a little before the Australian Open,” Potapova said as quoted by “Championship”.
Shevchenko and Potapova will participate in the international tournament of the Northern Palmyra Trophies, which will be held from December 1 to 3 in St. Petersburg.
Shevchenko is 23 years old and ranks 49th in the ATP rankings. Potapova, 22, is 28th in the WTA rankings.
