Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova talked about changing her last name after marrying Alexander Shevchenko .
Potapova and Shevchenko were married on Friday in St. Petersburg. The athletes posted photos from the wedding on their social media accounts. The ceremony took place at Wedding Palace No. 1 on the Promenade des Anglais.
– What name will I play under? I decided to keep my last name on the field and play under the last name of Potapov, but in life I change my last name. Here you can announce “Mr” and “Mrs” Shevchenko. No one was offended and it will be great,” Championship quotes Potapova.
Potapova is 22 years old and ranked 28th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Shevchenko, 23, is 49th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.
