Athletistic/Tennis. Russian tennis player Vera Zvonareva has opened up about how long she plans to compete at the professional level. She is currently 39 years old.

“I love playing tennis, it has been with me all my life. I love playing while my schedule allowed me to be divided between family and the game. I succeeded. However, every year, it becomes more and more difficult because of my family. I had injuries, so there were breaks in my career, when I spent more time with my family. Then I returned to the field . But now I can’t guess how long I will play: I play from week to week. When I understand that I need to spend more time with my family, I just take a break and spend more time with my family .

Now I’m not at the age where I need to play all the time. When you’re 18 and just making your debut on the professional circuit, you have obligations and you feel pressure to play all the time. I don’t have that anymore, I just play for fun,” Zvonareva said as quoted by “Championship.”

Vera Zvonareva is a bronze medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing (China) in singles. The 39-year-old Russian’s highest position in the WTA rankings among women’s singles players is second racket in the world (October 2010).
