Former Danish world number one Caroline Wozniacki received a special invitation (wild card) to the main draw of the Australian Open, reported the website Grand Slam tournament.
At the end of June, Wozniacki announced the resumption of his career after a break of 3.5 years and the birth of two children. The tennis player plans to come to Melbourne with her husband David Lee, daughter Olivia and son James.
“I have so many wonderful memories from Melbourne and of course winning the Australian Open is the biggest achievement of my career. I feel very comfortable in this tournament. I love this court and the fans. “I am sincerely grateful to everyone for the wild card and the opportunity to participate in the tournament again,” said the 33-year-old Dane.
Wozniacki has won 30 WTA singles titles throughout her career and won the 2018 Australian Open.
The 2024 Australian Open will take place from January 14 to 28.
