Russian tennis player Alina Korneeva received the status of 2023 International Tennis Federation (ITF) world champion among juniors, according to the ITF website.
“I am very happy with the results I achieved this year and, of course, I am happy to become number one at the end of the year. But I don’t want to stop there. I can’t wait to see the next season and hope it brings something new.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported me. “I also want to congratulate all the players on an incredible year – happy new year 2024,” Korneeva said.
Korneeva is 16 years old. Last season, the athlete won two junior Grand Slam tournaments: the Australian Open and Roland Garros. The Russian also has a victory in the ITF tournament. In October, Korneeva won the junior final.
In the WTA rankings, the tennis player occupies 176th position.
