Elena wins debut Grand Slam title
Representative of Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina became champion women’s mesh Wimbledon-2022.
In the final, Rybakina beat the second racket of the world in three sets Ons Gill from Tunisia. Tennis players spent almost two hours on the court.
For the entire match, Rybakina converted four out of six breakpoints, giving her opponent two games on her serve. Elena also made four aces and three double faults.
Rybakina won her debut Grand Slam title. In total, Elena has three WTA titles in her career.
For Jabeur, it was also the first Grand Slam singles final. Ons failed to win her fourth career WTA trophy.
Recall that Russian and Belarusian tennis players were not allowed to participate in Wimbledon due to the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. Because of this, the ATP, WTA and ITF decided not to award ranking points for performance in the tournament.
