Athletistic/Tennis. Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, a two-time Grand Slam champion, said that if the disqualification period was not reduced, it would end her professional career.

“It’s been more than a year now and every day I go through this very hard ordeal. Lots of emotions. I was shocked when I received a letter with a positive doping test. I know I have nothing wrong done wrong. I’m clean “I have always been opposed to doping. Four years is a huge time for me. If the disqualification period is not reduced, I don’t know how I will cope with it. This will be the end of my career,” Halep was quoted as saying by Euronews Romania.

In September this year, Halep was suspended from competition until October 2026 due to an anti-doping rule violation. Roxadustat was detected in the athlete’s anti-doping sample taken at the end of 2022. Violations were also discovered in the tennis player’s biological passport. In October, Halep announced that she had filed an appeal with the CAS against the decision to ban her for four years.

  • Halep filed a lawsuit against a company that produces dietary supplements, which resulted in her being disqualified.
