Djokovic jokes with Kyrgios after Wimbledon win: ‘I never thought I’d say something good about you’

The Serb congratulated the Aussie on his Grand Slam performance and had some humorous words regarding the love-hate relationship the two have had lately. “Nick, you’ll be back,” Nole also said.

Novak Djokovic again stayed with Wimbledon. The Serbian tennis player beat Nick Kyrgios 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and 7-6(3) and celebrated for the seventh time in the cathedral and the fourth in a row. During the award ceremony, Nole dedicated words to the Australian and assured him that he would play a Grand Slam final again.. He also took the time to joke about the rivalry on and off the pitch between the two.

“Nick, you’ll be back” , began by telling Bad Boy the former world number one. And he added: “I know it’s not easy to heed words of consolation after losing a final, but you showed why you deserve to be among the best in the world. I respect you a lot, you have a great talent. Now you put all your pieces together.”

Djokovic erupted into laughter from the crowd in the gym, humorously taking up the love-hate relationship he has had with Kyrgios lately. Things between the two were settled in the run-up to the last Australian Open, when Nick publicly supported the Serb, when he was kicked out of the ocean country. “I never thought I’d say anything good about you,” said Nole, who also praised his opponent in the definition: “He showed why he deserved to be one of the best players of the world, especially on this surface.”

“It’s officially a ‘bromance.’ I hope this is the start of a beautiful friendship. concluded the champion of the tournament played in London.

Kyrgios, for his part, analyzed his participation in the event and assured that he hopes to return to the Grand Slam final. “It’s been the best two weeks of my career. Hopefully I can be here again,” the Bad Boy said.

The Australian also had words for his rival, whom he praised for his qualities as a player, calling him an exceptional player. “He’s a bit of a God, I’m not going to lie,” he said.

Likewise, he claimed that, for the time being, he plans to take a break from the discipline: “I think me and everyone are exhausted from so much tennis.”

With his new Wimbledon crown, Djokovic reached his 21st Grand Slam tournament and was one step away from equaling Rafael Nadal’s record of 22 crowns in this type of tournament. He was also looking for Roger Federer, who, with eight titles, is the most successful winner in the cathedral. Kyrgios, meanwhile, has proven to be up to the greats and, despite the fact that he has already said that he will surely take a break, he could possibly be the protagonist of a new contest.

Nole shone again in London and, at 35, he wants to continue to grow his legend.
