“Sharapova and Serena Williams cannot be compared to modern tennis players” – Pliskova

Czech tennis player Karoline Pliskova said that several Grand Slam winners Serena Williams And Maria Sharapova cannot be compared to modern female athletes.

— Sharapova and Serena were notable figures in tennis and even the world of marketing. They cannot be compared to modern tennis players. I think WTA is not very useful in this situation. The organization doesn’t promote them very well. Women’s tennis is now sort of relegated to the background, and fewer people go there than before,” First Sportz quotes Pliskova with reference to ISport.

Sharapova has won five Grand Slam tournaments and has won 36 WTA tournaments throughout her career. Williams has won 73 Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) titles. The American ranks second in the number of Grand Slam tournament victories in women’s singles (23), behind Margaret Court (24).
