Athletistic/Tennis. Former Czech world number one tennis player Karolina Pliskova said there are no strong and charismatic female tennis players on the current WTA Tour. As examples, she cited the Russian Maria Sharapova and the American Serena Williams, who have already finished their careers.

“The women’s circuit is not entirely ideal at the moment, but every top athlete has something to offer. It seems to me that I am not the only one who feels this way. I will not talk about the sporting aspect, but charisma also plays a role. “Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams were not only exceptional personalities from a sporting point of view, but also in the world of marketing. And current female tennis players cannot be compared to them,” Pliskova was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

Maria Sharapova still remains the most successful tennis player in Russia. During her career, she won 39 WTA titles, including five Grand Slam titles. She helped the Russian team win the Fed Cup (2008) and also won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Serena Williams finally retired from the sport in 2022. She is a four-time Olympic champion and 38-time Grand Slam winner.
