Belarusian Olympic tennis champion Maxim Mirny underwent surgery to remove a malignant tumor, Smartpress.by reports, citing sources.
As reported, Mirny went to the doctor about a month ago complaining of headaches. The 46-year-old athlete underwent a craniotomy and the tumor was removed in one of the hospitals in Minsk. The operation lasted eight hours and was successful. The tennis player and his family left Belarus to continue his treatment.
Mirny is the 2012 Olympic champion in mixed doubles, 10-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments in doubles and mixed doubles.
