Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev lost to Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in a World Tennis League match in Abu Dhabi.
According to the competition regulations, matches consist of a single set. The match ended with a score of 7:6 (7:4) in favor of the Pole. As a result of the match, the score in the confrontation between the teams became equal, so the tennis players arranged an additional tiebreaker, in which the Russian beat his opponent with a score of 10:4.
Earlier, Medvedev and Andrei Rublev defeated Hurkacz and Norwegian Casper Ruud in a doubles match – 7:6 (7:3). Mirra Andreeva and American Sofia Kenin defeated the international duo Iga Szwiatek/Caroline Garcia (Poland/France) – 6:4. Rublev and Andreeva lost to Hurkacz and Shventek in mixed doubles – 2:6.
Medvedev, Rublev, Andreeva and Kenin play for the Eagles team, Hurkacz, Szventek, Ruud and Garcia for the Hawks. The overall result of the confrontation is 31:28 in favor of the Eagles.
The “Korshunov” and “Sokolov” teams also participate in the World Tennis League.
