The Eagles team, made up of Russian tennis players Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Mirra Andreeva and American Sofia Kenin, reached the final of the World Tennis League exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
The Eagles finished second in the standings with 75 points.
The Eagles’ opponent in the final was the Kites (79), represented by Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and Spaniard Paula Badosa.
On Saturday, the Kites faced the Hawks. Sabalenka defeated the Polish Iga Szwiatek with a score of 6:4, Dimitrov was defeated by the Norwegian Casper Ruud – 4:6.
Sabalenka and Badosa lost to Szwiatek and Caroline Garcia (France) – 3:6, Dimitrov and Lloyd Harris (South Africa) defeated Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz (Poland) – 6:4.
