Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev declared that the matches with the Spaniard Rafael Nadal the new season will be a big test for him.
Earlier, it became known that 37-year-old Nadal, who missed almost a year due to injury, will return to the court in January 2024 at a tournament in Brisbane, Australia. Medvedev has played six career matches against the 22-time Grand Slam winner, five of which the Spaniard won.
— It’s very difficult to beat Nadal. In fact, in my rivalry with Rafa, perhaps, in some way, I achieved even less success than with Novak. [Джоковичем].
We had some close matches where I felt like I could win, but maybe he took the lead in the end. So if I meet him, these matches will be a big test for me.
I don’t know what state he’s in right now, no one knows, and how he’s going to get out of it. But judging from what I’ve seen, he’s doing well, and that’s great for tennis,” Medvedev was quoted as saying by Eurosport.
