Polsky has previously said that the Russian Tennis Federation’s merits in Elena Rybakina’s success at Wimbledon are minimal.
“What’s the point of inflating it? She studied in Russia from the age of 6 to 18, what are the minimum merits? Tug of war is simple. I don’t take anything away from the merits of Kazakhstan, but Rybakina is a product of our school. Don’t be for these 12 years that she passed us, then what would happen? I just said it as it is. Without reasoning about good and bad. No one can deny that she has left our school. Then they can think whatever they want,” Tarpishchev said.
Originally from Moscow, Elena Rybakina has been playing for Kazakhstan since 2018.
