Kostyuk, in addition to singles, will also play doubles at the Australian Open

The fourth racket of Ukraine Marta Kostyuk showed up for Australian Open in doubles with the Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse.

Earlier, Marta, along with the three strongest Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina and Lesya Tsurenko, was entered into the main draw of the women’s singles of the Australian Open. Dayana Yastremskaya, Daria Snigur, Katarina Zavatskaya and debutant Yulia Starodubtseva will try to qualify.

Vitaly Sachko and Ilya Marchenko will perform in the men’s tournament qualifications. Ukrainian Denis Molchanov, together with Serbian Nikola Cacic, has been entered into the main draw of the Australian Open 2024 doubles. The first major of the year will take place from January 14 to 28.

In 2017, Kostyuk became the champion of the junior Australian Open. A year later, at the age of 15, Marta reached the third round of the main tournament in Melbourne, where she lost to compatriot Svitolina.

At the Australian Open 2023, Kostyuk, paired with Ruse, managed to reach the semifinals of the doubles.

Marta Kostyuk is ranked 39th in the new WTA rankings. In the world women’s doubles ranking, she occupies 33rd position – the best indicator for tennis players from Ukraine. The new season for Marta will begin at the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane, which will be held from January 1 to 7.
