The eighth racket in the world is Czech Karolina Muchova announced that she will miss the Australian Open in 2024 due to a recurrence of her injury.
The first Grand Slam tournament of the season will take place in Melbourne from January 14 to 28.
“I don’t like to talk about it, especially before the start of the new season, but, unfortunately, the pain in my wrist returned during training. I will have to delay the start of the season and first fully heal my wrist. It’s frustrating, but I have to stay positive, recover and prepare for the rest of the year. See you at the Australian Open in 2025,” Muchova wrote on the social network.
Muchova is 27 years old. The tennis player owns one WTA title, and in 2023 the athlete reached the final of Roland Garros, where she lost to Poland’s Iga Szwiatek.
