Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina she would like to return to a more vivid perception of a child’s life and believes this will help improve results in tournaments.
The 26-year-old Russian is 18th in the WTA rankings. During her career, Kasatkina won six titles.
“I’m trying to get back to a child mentality.” I remember how, as a child, I went to training in my parents’ car. Now I understand that in childhood everything that happens around me seems more alive, surprising and incredible. As we age, these same events and circumstances are no longer as surprising. It’s sad, the colors become less vivid. I truly believe that this childish part of every person helps you.
I left home when I was 15 or 16 and have been on the move ever since. I can call some places home, but there’s always something missing, you know? Something is always missing. So things get a little complicated.
I’m already hungry for a trip to Australia. It’s been a long time since we held tournaments here. We’re only spending about a month in Australia and for me it’s one of the best places on the tour. So I’m looking forward to the Australian Open,” Kasatkina said, as quoted by the Australian Open press service.
The Australian Open will take place from January 14 to 28 in Melbourne.
