Rio 2016 Olympic doubles champion Elena Vesnin noted the high intensity of training work Vera Zvonareva .
Zvonareva, 39, and German tennis player Laura Siegemund in the 2023 season won the final tournament, the WTA 500 category competitions in Washington, as well as the WTA 250 tournaments in Ningbo and Nanchang in China.
– Vera is generally a good person – she is a plowman, I don’t even know a tennis player who would carry out such important work to the limit, one might even say, to self-destruction. The way Vera trains is the same way that even many single professionals don’t train. For her, this is on a certain transcendental level.

Zvonareva is ranked 272nd in the WTA rankings in singles and ninth in doubles.
