Russian tennis player Elena Vesnin said the upcoming season would be the last of his career.
Earlier, Vesnina, 37, announced that she would return to court in 2024.
— The Australian Open is the only Grand Slam tournament that you have not won in doubles. Do you want to play it in 2025 and try to recover the “Career Helmet”?
– That would of course be very cool. And if it doesn’t work, keep playing until 2053 (laughs). Seriously, I don’t have an open gestalt in the form of a “career helmet”. I have already decided with certainty that this season will be the finale for me, the “last dance”. In any case, I will end the season and career on a positive note, because my journey in tennis has been quite long and I still want to say the last word. There is desire, motivation and strength,” Vesnina told Sport24.
Vesnina is an Olympic champion and three-time winner of Grand Slam doubles tournaments.
