In the 1/16 finals, Karatsev, ranked 35th in the world, faced Australian Jason Kubler, ranked 102nd in the ATP rankings.
The match lasted 2 hours 5 minutes and ended with the Russian’s refusal with a score of 4:6, 7:6 (7:4).
In the next round of the tournament, Kubler will face Spaniard Rafael Nadal, fighting for a place in the quarterfinals.
